Wellbeing inspired by
Shinrin-yoku
You don’t need to travel to Japan to practise
the Art of Forest Bathing.
Shinrin-yoku is a health-promoting practice of immersing yourself in nature, developed in Japan. It involves slow, relaxing walks and experiencing the natural surroundings – especially the forest – with all your senses. It can be used as a preventive or rehabilitative practice, or to support treatment. Immersing yourself in the forest atmosphere is much like immersing yourself in water – hence the name.
We took it a step further...
To slow walks and quiet contemplation of nature, we added relaxation treatments.
Our wellness area was created in the forest, surrounded by greenery and directly beneath the open sky. It grows naturally out of its surroundings and blends seamlessly into them. We even take our treatments onto the water...
Following the principles of Shinrin-yoku, we sought to create harmony between people and nature. We kept our intervention in the natural surroundings to the absolute minimum. We laid out forest paths, created spaces for yoga and even... a forest cinema designed for contemplation and quiet. Overlooking the wetland, we built a sauna, while at the edge of the meadow – with its sweeping view – we placed a hot tub with Jacuzzi. Vintage metal bathtubs from a pre-war sanatorium are used for pine baths, and a glass pavilion among the trees is home to our massages. We added a small brine graduation tower, and this is how it all came together...
All shades of green...
Our wellness area is immersed in every shade of the Warmian forest. Set among the trees and directly beneath the open sky, it is designed not only for pampering and deep relaxation, but also to support our Guests’ wellbeing. For our treatments, we use what the meadow and forest offer in season: natural ingredients and cosmetics made with young pine shoots, green pine cones, wildflowers and herbs.
